I cannot remember a time in my life when I did not enjoy moving, traveling long distances, or even just taking a ride across town.  I LOVE to drive and I particularly love taking long trips where I can meet people from different areas and see the varied landscape of the United States.  (I would love to visit other countries as well, but thus far I've only made it to Mexico.)

Anyway, I want to give my children this gift as well.  For a love of travel is a gift, I believe.  Last summer we took a 6,000 mile trip out west.  I was going to be promoting my new homeschool book on the trip and while I was not able to sign copies of the book because it hadn't been released yet, I was able to give out postcards and talk with many homeschool families about the book.

This year we're planning a trip to Washington DC, which I will feature here, and next year we have some more travels planned in conjunction with the release of my new book, scheduled for January 2010.  Check back often and I'll post updates about our travels.  You can read about our adventures, but from now on as we visit various cities, I plan to post articles about places you don't want to miss when you travel to these locations with your own family!
